Kawasaki Advert

Heres an advert for a Kawasaki Z1A 900, showing a European spec bike, think this was a German advert?

Pic of my mate Stephens 72 Z1 just after a total rebuild, just to let you see the paint on a Z1.

  1. Rider looks like he could be German...? It's interesting to see adverts that you didn't see here in the States. I never liked that tank style, and have always preferred the earliest Z-1 paint scheme. I always thought that this scheme pictured here made it less easy to differentiate the bike from the other brands of "big fours". As the bike mags of the time started labeling them...too UJM. HL

  2. The first Z1 paint jobs really jumped out at you and as you say went down hill a bit with the Z1A, but the blue Z1Bs made up for it, I think, time for a couple of pics...

  3. Now that is a gorgeous bike! Did he do the paint? Don't tell me he found an NOS tank! I have an original to use for a pattern and color match. I'm not going for concours but trying for a close match-up. HL

  4. When he bought the project off another club member it came with a small badge tank, that originally came from me, but needed a bit of work. As far as I know he did a deal with a company called Z power over here, and bought a brand new body set ready painted supplied from Japan. The companys called PMC, and do a whole range of parts for the Zeds and other makes
