BSA B25?
Was over at The Bikers Cove in South Queensferry today and spotted this nice little BSA with a few changes......
First off its fitted with Kawasaki 125 KDX front end. The engine is from 200cc Sky Team, with electric start, owner says its handy when he has a sore back, also rear wheel and brake from the same. He has the original engine which he has rebuilt, but not sure if he'll refit due to how well it goes now.....

Friday Bike
A while back there was a post on an advert showing the last of the BSA line up for 72, which lead on to talking about the BSA Fury/ Triumph Bandit. As expected when the factory closed there would be loads of spares to dispose of, and among the parts was quite a few frames for the "new" Bandit/ Fury's. I remember seeing a few dealers advertising them for sale in the magazines, even into the 80s. Over the years I've seen a few specials built with the frames. Triumph/ BSA had a go at building other "projects" with them, with a couple of them on show at the NMM.
So what brought on this post? well I was at a CRMC race meeting and spotted the bike below, its built round a Bandit frame, using a late 650 (70s) Triumph motor with a 750 parallel inlet head, topped off with a Bandit fuel tank... it goes as well as it looks

I remember reading about this bike back in the 80s. It has two cylinders sliced off a Rolls Royce Merlin V12 piston aero engine of 27-litre, which makes the twin nearly 5litres.
This engine was built in 1982 by Australian engineer Lucky Keizer.
If you click on the title there is an article from The Kneeslider about the engine

In the mid 80s SuperBike magazine ran a contest for their reader to designed the bodywork for a Tony Foale designed motorcycle, the Quantum 2 (Q2). The winning bodywork design would be used for the bike. I think the style that won was fantastic. As you can see with Dans Q2 above, it looks just right. If you want more info go to the Tony Foale site, click on articles and you will find a fair bit of info on the Q2.
I am not sure how many were built or have survived and that's a question Dan is trying to find out, if you know of any leave a message on Dans site, click title to go to his blog.

Spotted this Z1000 MK2 based special over on the Rocket Garage, see link down right hand side. When you first see it you think its only low bars and a seat, but look closer and you notice a lot of nice touches... it sounds good too!

This is one of Alistair Laurie's Triumph Triple specials. He built his bikes as light as possible, not just the chassis but many of the engine parts. If I remember right he built a Triple to try for 200mph, it was fitted with a full "Dustbin" fairing, don't know if he ever got to or near his target speed.
In the early 80s we visited his shop in Dumfries (SW Scotland) quite a few times, it was worth the ride just to look at his bikes
