Was over at The Bikers Cove in South Queensferry today and spotted this nice little BSA with a few changes......
First off its fitted with Kawasaki 125 KDX front end. The engine is from 200cc Sky Team, with electric start, owner says its handy when he has a sore back, also rear wheel and brake from the same. He has the original engine which he has rebuilt, but not sure if he'll refit due to how well it goes now.....
Very neat, looks like it was designed to fit. No doubt it'll annoy some of the purists, but if the owner likes it, that's all that matters.
ReplyDeleteHe does seem to like it, and it gets well used. I'd rather see it like that than lying in the shed with a dead engine.
ReplyDeleteLooks good, looks practical...what is a 200cc Sky Team? I'll have to go google that. As far as the purists, he can always return it to stock. At least he didn't weld on a hardtail and sissy bar to the frame. I'm not anti-chopper, but I'm amazed at how many people destroy valuable bikes. Saw a 'chopped' p 11 Scrambler at a site. Oh well, that will make the remaining stock bikes that much more valuable.
ReplyDeleteDoes look practical doesn't it.
ReplyDeleteA chopped P11?????????? Sacriledge...the knuckledragger should be banished with others like him!
Larry, Sky Team is a Chinese Motorcycle company, building what looks like clones of Suzuki's.
ReplyDeleteI bought a Norton featherbed frame that had been adjusted, lower rails removed, to take a GS 750 motor... it was the things they did back then. Happy ending to the story, the frame was repaired and is now rebuilt with a Domi 99 motor.
Checked out the website, complete with flaming graphics and rock and roll music...interesting. I've got a Norton motor that was separated from it's featherbed frame. Friend of mine has a featherbed frame that was modified to hold a Vincent at one time. He'll probably build a Triton. I might put the motor I have in a Commando basket I have. Nothing wrong with building runners from parts...just hate to hear about the gross horrors that go on. Remember reading about Bud Ekins telling the Harley guys about how much the stuff they pulled off their Harley's were getting to be worth way back when.Sent a lot guys off to see if they had kept any of the old stuff. Is that why I don't get rid of old bike arts?
