A friend just sent me a link to this bike which is on ebay just now.
Its a 76 Kawasaki KZ900 fitted with a Tracy Body kit. I like the way its been painted using Z1B colours.
I think I've said else where in the past I wouldn't mind one of these bodies for one of my Zeds, may be some day......
I like that model of Tracy body. The ones I've seen are more 'chopper' or 'flat-track' looking with rather smallish tanks. I have one I inherited from my brother. It came from a shop that was attacked with dynamite in the 70's (at least that is the story). It was hanging up in the shop window when the blast happened, and suffered damage to one side of the tank. He was going to cut the bottom out of the tank and put it on a dragster Kaw 500. He was going to run two small tubular tanks for holding the fuel, that would have fit under this cover. It was designed to fit a later Triumph 650, and he ended up abandoning that plan. I might try adapting it to a 60's Triumph. I'll have to keep an eye out for a body like the one on the Kawa there. That has some really nice lines.
ReplyDeleteThe Tracy Bodies have always reminded me of the styling of the Triumph Hurricane... one day I'll find one for a Zed..... Larry if you find two give me a shout ;-)
