Back in the 70s/80s this was the way to get your on board footage, as you can see not as compact as the modern helmet cams. The batteries for it were carried in a back pack and weighed in at about 50lbs, this gave about enough power for one lap....

About one lap is all it'd take before getting some serious neck and back problems with that lot starpped on!
