Board Track 3

The Man himself

..when 100mph was fast!

A while back I posted a photo of a Board Track racer with a few words about the sport. Just came across this article in Smithsonian.com about one mans life long conection with the Board Track, interesting story I think.

  1. My father grew up in southern California, but the board tracks were before his time. Wonder if my grandfather ever saw any bike racing? A good friend of mine's grandfather raced Harley's, but it might have been after the boardtracks, I'll have to check with him. He has a family story about how his grandfather was knocked cold by a racing crash, and was thought to have expired and was sent over to the morgue. Hours later he came to, much to the surprise of everyone. True story...? Who knows, supposedly he met Wyatt Earp as well..... HL
